While Many Love To Hate Frisco, The Locals Just Love It!
Good or bad, you keep hearing about Frisco, TX in the news. It seems all of DFW has their opinions, have heard "the" rumors, and watched in amazement as Frisco has drawn in one billion dollar development after another from suitors surrounding the globe.
But what's really happening? Frisco currently sits at a population just over 150,000 and when built out (by 2025 some expect) will be work and/or home to just shy of 375,000 souls. When I moved to Frisco, back in 2000, the town wasn't a third the size it is now.
It hasn't stopped growing since. So, there has to be a reason, right? Well, here's the secret... It's the people! The property tax paying residents that have worked together to drive the vision. With enough focus, energy and appropriate budgeting, IT HAS WORKED!
People that move to Frisco do so because of the perceived "living standards." New schools, endless shopping and eating options, easy access via the tollways to almost anywhere in the metroplex. These are only the eye candy that draws people in. Once you're here, you realize there's so much more.
This is one of the conversations you beg to ignore. It would seem almost preposterous to utter the words... But then again, this is America's Team we're talking about, right? What bad decision do they not make?
Who's seen the headlines? "Dak or Romo?" Many seem to be pleading the rookie's case. Most seem resigned to the loyalty our owner feels he owes his veteran player. The QB that's literally been down-and-out a few too many times.
"Romo can win, too" ...Since when? Go ahead! Let Jerry send in Slomo week 8. Even if we dropped a handful, before he's injured again and out for the season... Dak's positioned us, at 4-1, well enough thus far and proven his ability against tough teams that hopefully he can ride in and save the day. Maybe even win us a couple playoff games!
